Cameron, being the only one on the plane who is not a prisoner, decides to take action and help the other passengers. He uses his military training to fight off the criminals and protect the innocent passengers, including a newlywed couple, a diabetic, and a little girl.
Meanwhile, U.S. Marshal Vince Larkin (John Cusack) coordinates a rescue mission from the ground. He tries to negotiate with the hijackers and come up with a plan to take back the plane before it crashes into the Las Vegas Strip.
