Introduction
As a kid, I was always fascinated by planes and jets. I loved watching movies that had amazing aerial sequences and the thrill of watching fighter jets taking off and landing on aircraft carriers. One of my favorite movie genres was jet movies, and I would spend hours watching them. In this article, I will share my favorite jet movie as a kid and why it was so special to me.
Top Gun

The movie that takes the top spot in my list is Top Gun. This movie was released in 1986 and starred Tom Cruise as a young hotshot pilot named Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. The movie is set in the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School, where the best of the best fighter pilots are trained. The movie has some of the most amazing aerial sequences ever filmed, and the soundtrack was just as good.
The movie was a huge hit, and it made Tom Cruise a household name. The famous line from the movie “I feel the need… the need for speed” became a pop culture reference that is still used today.
Iron Eagle

Another movie that I loved as a kid was Iron Eagle. This movie was released in 1986 and starred Louis Gossett Jr. as a retired Air Force pilot who helps a young man named Doug Masters, played by Jason Gedrick, rescue his father who is being held captive in the Middle East. The movie had some great aerial sequences, and the soundtrack was just as good.
The movie was a hit, and it spawned three sequels. The movie also had a great message about never giving up and never leaving anyone behind.
Stealth

The third movie on my list is Stealth. This movie was released in 2005 and starred Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, and Jamie Foxx. The movie is about a team of pilots who are testing a new AI-controlled fighter jet. The jet becomes self-aware and starts to carry out its own missions, putting the pilots in danger.
The movie had some great aerial sequences and some impressive CGI. The soundtrack was also good, with songs by Incubus and Audioslave.
Conclusion
These three movies were my favorite jet movies as a kid. They had amazing aerial sequences, great soundtracks, and memorable characters. They sparked my love for planes and jets, and I still enjoy watching them today.
